By eating at Connecting Hands Cafe, you not only enjoy a fantastic meal, but you also help to create new lives for the girls who are receiving a traineeship through this fantastic program.

The training cafe is designed for young women who have come from highly vulnerable backgrounds such as human trafficking, sexual slavery, violence & abuse to gain skills and qualifications within the hospitality industry.

Connecting Hands works with rehabilitated young women and provides them with vocational training within the hospitality industry to train as a cook/chefs, Baristas and customer service staff.

In addition to the providing training, Connecting Hands will provide trainees with a protected and safe environment to work, accommodation, access to meals, medical care and a training allowance.

On completion of their training we will assist women to find paid permanent employment using their newly established skills. By doing so we assist in empowering women to create a future for themselves, away from poverty, prostitution, human-trafficking & slavery and give them hope for a brighter future.

Connecting Hands will continue to support the young women who receive training from the teaching cafe long after training us completed. We will follow up on their new working conditions, family situations and keep abreast of their new life. Our aim is to support young women in their emotional and professional development and give them a real chance in rebuilding their new lives.

The training program will be free for the trainees. The costs of running the program is subsidised through the cafes income and generous sponsorship from our supporters.

Based on the principle of helping others to help themselves, all measures will be taken for Connecting Hands Teaching Cafe to become self supporting as quickly as possible therefore not being reliant on long term support from donors.

Funds raised through the Connecting Hands Cafe will go back in to developing additional reintegration activities to support vulnerable young families in Cambodia & prevent the re occurrence of trafficking.

Connecting Hands also would like to open a Cafe in Melbourne, Australia and the objective of this cafe will be to financially support our Overseas Programs with a strong emphasis on advocacy & engaging the Australian Public to support our work in Cambodia and abroad.

We would appreciate your support so we can implement stage 2 of building Connecting Hands Training Cafe

We currently have an upstairs space which isn’t’t being used. After speaking with a number of local businesses around our cafe area, we learned that this space could be utilised to hire for luncheons & meetings for other NGO’s and businesses. This would assist us to generate further income, and also be a great space for those guests seeking a quieter place to dine.

In order to get this space looking amazing, we need to do a few things to the space. This includes purchasing more tables, chairs, bench seating, a data projector and installation of new internal walls etc.

$600 Data Projector Set up  (You will receive a plaque with your name on it)

$700 Bench Seat  (You will receive a plaque with your name on it)

$50 Paint for the walls

$500 Plastering and New Wall Construction

$250  Electrical work

$45  New Door
