Connecting Hands Training Cafe Cambodia

Sustainable employment is often the only way to remove and support women who have suffered enslavement and violence from further exploitation & slavery.

Our training cafe is designed for young women who have escaped lives of highly vulnerable backgrounds such as human trafficking, sexual slavery and domestic violence to gain life changing skills and qualifications within the hospitality industry.

Our goal is to empower young women to change their own lives with traineeships and on the job training as cooks, baristas and customer service staff within our training cafe in Cambodia.

Through our program, every student who graduates is offered a full-time position either within our own training cafe, where they can continue their learning while earning a generous and sustainable income.

Or if appropriate and the student is ready, we will assist them to find paid permanent employment outside the training cafe using their newly established skills.

By doing so we assist in empowering women to create a future for themselves, away from poverty, prostitution and slavery, giving them hope for a brighter and sustainable future.

We continue to support women who receive training from the teaching cafe long after training is completed. We follow up on their new working conditions, family situations and keep abreast of their new life. Our aim is to support young women in their emotional and professional development and give them a real chance in rebuilding their new lives.

All funds from our training cafe are directed back into the training cafe, this helps us provide more opportunities for new students to gain training, employment and freedom.

Alongside training, we offer great working conditions, English classes, access to medical treatment, safe accommodation & ongoing practical support to equip them to change their lives. We also provide daycare and schooling to students with young children.

The training program is free for all trainees. The costs of running the program is subsidised through the cafes income and generous sponsorship from our supporters.
